I Come From
I come from a place that confuses deliveries
I come from the same location but I have moved
I come from blue, purple and pink rooms
I come from being scared of dogs to loving them
I come from friends and enemies,
From an author who has edited the way I think
I come from boats and ferries
I come from paper fishes in glass jars,
From pink leotards and ballet shoes
I come from thinking that candyfloss was poisonous dyed wool
I come from church, prays and the rare ‘let us say grace’
I come from planes and shouting for Ariel at Niagara Falls
I come from a family.
