I want a future family
I stumble to the foster
parents car. I don’t look back
at mum, what I do is cry.
As loud as an elephant wailing
with his trunk but before
I try to look back we’re off,
into the horizon.
Up into the scary hills of the
forest, I tried to run, I was
just put back inside
their house.
I stumble, I want confidence
to help me cope for
sometimes I went too far.
I want time for my life
to play out
sometimes people laugh at me
and I cry.
I want to move on like
time travel, up in space
though I know it’s not real.
I want a loyal shield that,
protects me when people
say mean words so they just bounce
off and back to the bully in front of me.
I want the life of a tiger,
so confident and free at the dead of
night.
I want to be by my mother
even though she didn’t look
after me well.
I want my dreams to come true,
and I magically appear as
a little girl in a world
called Story Brook.
I want to be a famous actor,
that beamed on stage as if
she wasn’t nervous.
I want a life in a fairy tale,
like Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs,
or Cinderella or the evil queen
from once upon a time.

A wonderful poem Ruby. I wish I had the magic wand to make all your dreams come true.
