SSPCA Visit
Lee from the SSPCA came to visit us and told us all about how litter is damaging to animals. She showed us pictures and videos of animals harmed by litter but also how they were rescued and helped by the SSPCA. As a class we then made posters to encourage other children not to drop litter.
Dr Herron’s Visit
Dr Herron came to our class and taught us all about her job as a GP!
We got to listen to our hearts and also look in each other’s ears. She taught all about the equipment she uses in her day as a doctor.
Hope you enjoy the pictures and a big thank you to Dr Herron for coming along to our class.
Mrs MacDonald’s Visit
We had a fantastic time when Mrs MacDonald (Elaine) came to visit us!
She taught us so much about being a nurse in A&E and brought lots of items for us to see and try out!
Thank you very much Mrs Macdonald. Hope everyone enjoys the pictures.
Creative Day of Dance
We had great fun performing our dance in front of lots of schools and our parents.
After a little shaky start, probably due to nerves being first on, we got into the swing of things and ended with a spectacular ending!
Well done P2/3!
Thanks to our parent helpers- Mrs Herron, Mrs Bickerton and Mrs Chalamanda!
Climbing Wall
P2/3 had great time learning the skills to use the climbing wall.
You can move like a crab or like an Egyptian.
Everybody gave it a go, but Eleanor you were super!
Tatty Tales
Today we had to earth up our potatoes because when we measured them they were 20cm tall. Most of us took turns to put some more soil on the potatoes. we earth them to protect from the frost and weeds.
We also dug up pot A to see the roots. There were no potatoes but there was hook forming which is a sign that potatoes would form.
Hopefully when we dig up Pot B there will be some small potatoes visible.
Health Week Day 4
We finished our week getting ready for our Easter Get Together.
In the morning we all made Easter napkin holders for the Daffodil Tea. Some of us also made flowers and others made an Easter bonnet.
In the afternoon we joined with the rest of the school in our Easter Get Together.
Health Week Day 3
Today was busy, busy!
We made comments for our Friendship Tree – saying kind words about somebody we wouldn’t generally say something nice to.
Next we went over to the hall and Miss Dingwall showed us how to play Indoor Curling. We had a great time and some of us would have played longer.
This was then followed by orienteering in the playground with Mrs Lynne. The children in pairs managed this very well and after initially finding it a little tricky, they had it mastered. Mrs Lynne kindly provided Hot Chocolate to keep us warm, as the snow was beginning to fall a little harder.
In the afternoon, after music practice, we played Whole School Dodgeball. Well done to Ardoch who won, but a big well done has to go to Alexander Bickerton who was standing alone in his team,
which seemed an eternity, avoiding all the balls.
Health Week Day 2
Today we started with a whole school walk around the Castle Drive. Even though there were snow flurries, off we went! On route Jim Dawson, a local farmer, Â kindly let us see his newborn lambs in his farm.
After lunch we had a super time learning about SARDA. Mr Gaskell told us all about mountain rescue and the work of his dogs. We even had a demonstration, where the rescue dog had to find Mrs Gaskell.
