The Christmas Nativity

After two months of hard work, the children performed their nativity, The Christmas Recipe!

They worked hard to learn their songs, words, dances, stage directions and to speak loudly and clearly in front of a large audience. There were also a few changes of costumes to play different characters. Before the performance the children also helped to paint pictures and signs to decorate the stage.

Well done children! Your hard work certainly paid off on the night!

See photos on main page.

The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch

The children were joined today by our visiting Specialists.

This included Mrs McGaffney for Music, Mrs Bennett for Drama and Miss Mailer for Art.

In the morning Miss Mailer built marvellous lighthouses with the children and showed them the easy way to draw seagulls.

Mrs McGaffney used the Ipads with the children. They put sounds to pictures using musical instruments and their voices and then recorded these on the Ipads. These were then demonstrated to the children on the smartboard.

In the afternoon, the children made still pictures and used mime for different scenes of the Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch story.

Thank you all our specialists who came today and made the day so enjoyable.

♫Christmas with The Aliens♫

The children of P1/2/3 have been working very hard with Nursery on the play Christmas with the Aliens. We had our dress rehearsal on Monday afternoon and then we performed at the church on Wednesday 11th.December, 2013.
They did fantastically well!
A big thank you has to go to Mr Spears who opened the church door for us and helped rearrange furniture for us to practice.

The Sound of Music

We sang our little hearts out today at the Perth Concert Hall. We learnt the songs of the Sound of Music then had lunch at the Inch.

In the afternoon we watched a short performance by the Expressive Arts specialists and joined in with all the songs.

Well done all the girls who came in beautiful dresses and Noah in his Lederhosen!

Pinocchio

We finished our story of Pinocchio in Drama.

We folllowed this by writing our own story of our  own nose getting bigger.
