Our Heritage 200
Our new topic this term is called Our Heritage 200. We will be learning about Braco and Greenloaning over the past 200 years.
As part of our celebrations, a performance will be held in the Lodge Park at the end of March. Aileen Ogilvie came to help us plan out what we would be doing and she was also joined by Dave Macfarlane, who will help us create music for this performance.
Maghi
We have been learning about the festival of Maghi in RME which Hindus and Sikhs celebrate.
In class we made a type of rice pudding which we then enjoyed eating!
Magnets
P1.2.3 have been learning about what materials are magnetic.
Play the game below to see what items are magnetic.
We also found out about the poles of magnets. We found out which ones attract and which ones repel.
Cooking
We were making Apricot flapjacks in class this week.
We looked at recipes and how they are set out. P2/3 remembered about bullet points and bossy verbs.
We took turns at measuring and stirring the mixture.
I think we would recommend these for everyone to try.
Christmas Crafts
We have been a creative bunch making cards, lanterns, Christmas scenes and Christmas wreaths for our parents.
Forces
P1/2/3 were learning all about forces.
We looked at how slopes, vehicles’ weight, and surfaces affect the distance a car can travel.
We measured with feet and with metre sticks.
We also looked at what a fair test was!
Wriggly Nativity
P1/2/3Â and Nursery were absolutely fantastic in their production of Wriggly Nativity!
You were all brilliant!
ABC
Here is a link for P1.
This a song going through the alphabet, but you will learn the phonics for the letters.
