Our New Class Blog 2015!
Welcome to our new Class Blog for this new year.
Enjoy finding out about our learning !
Potato Competition
P1/2/3 were 1st prize winners of the potato competition!!
Next term we will receive £20 worth of gardening vouchers and an all paid visit to a farm.
The judge particularly liked that we made a recipe booklet and sold it at the Europa Cafe, where we made £37 for school funds. (Thank you to everyone who bought one of these too!)
Well done P1/2/3!!
Potato Pancakes
What a treat P1/2/3 had when Mrs Chalamanda came and showed us how to make Potato Pancakes!
The children were all able to help in the cooking process and of course were then able to try them afterwards. They were delicious!
The class also decided to name this our favourite potato recipe to enter the potato competition.
Thank you Mrs Chalamanda for coming into our classroom and teaching us how to make these wonderful pancakes
Tour de France Day
P1/2/3 had a team building day related to the Tour de France.
They had to design a poster for their cycling racing team which were based on real professional cycling teams. They had to make bunting for our special afternoon and they also had to find a player in their team who they were going to be and make up their own racing number.
In the afternoon of our Tour de France, the teams had to sign in, just like they do in the real Tour.
After all this, it was off to their bikes and the team races began! In these they had a chance to win points for their team in obstacle races, team sprints and individual races.
In the end Team Sky won! (It wasn’t a fix.)

Potatoes Boulangere
P1/2/3 made yesterday Potatoes Boulangere.
When making these they had to peel the potatoes, which was quite a tricky job. They then had to slice the potatoes and leeks too.
They had to follow recipe instructions, measure correctly and keep safe when cooking.
As you will see from the picture they did an amazing job!
