Numeracy
We have been learning Measure, Money and Time in our topic Maths.
Forest Science and Measure
P1/2 were learning this week in the forest about their sense of touch and were exploring different textures found in the forest.
In measure they used their body to explore length and also metre strings to measure with metres and half metres.

What We Have Been Up To!
Here are some pictures and information about what we have been learning this term!
Forest School
The children were learning again to use the kellie kettles safely in the forest.
In Numeracy, they were racing in pairs, ordering numbers and working out smallest and largest numbers.
The children also picked up litter on the way to and from the forest.
Braco Mystery Tour
The children were learning to follow directions walking around the village, in particular left and right.
We used our hands and thinking how we write, in order to turn left and right correctly.
Walking around the village, we saw where some of us lived and learned about some of the houses and roads in Braco. We will learn more about these in the future.
In the Forest
This week the children were learning to safely use kellie kettles.
They then had soup and wholemeal bread or hot juice.
P2 were making TU and HTU numbers with sticks and stones(the sticks representing Tens and small stones as Units). P1 were making numbers with sticks.
Maths Week
This week was Maths Week for the whole school. This meant there was a particular focus on Numeracy and Maths.
In P1/2, in Soft Play, the children played a number of games with a Maths link such as Snakes and Ladders and Connect Four.
We linked our PE to Numeracy and Maths.
We did a couple of orienteering exercises where the children were learning to read maps, follow routes in a numbered plan, recognise shapes and score using mental addition.
The children also practised number recognition, addition and subtraction facts through racing games.
In the forest, P 1 and 2Â were making numbers in different ways.
