Forest Schools

This week we revised which leaves come from different trees.

We then used leaves and other signs of autumn to make a picture of a flower.

When making the flower we had to find similar shades of leaves and put these together.

We made frames from sticks too. We were very creative and worked together too.

Hopefully you will agree what wonderful pictures the children made!

Puppets

We are going to make some puppets.

To start us off, we made some finger puppets.

We have now also made stick puppets.

This entailed us having to paint an egg for the head and decorating it with wool or felt for hair/hat. We then had to saw wood (25cm long) for the body and then covering it with material. (Thank you Mrs Gillies for the help!) We also had to attach another smaller piece of wood for an arm.

Hey Presto- a stick puppet!

Our Castle

The Friendly Dragon asked us to build a castle, so of course we had to oblige!

We built it from cardboard, painted it, made a portcullis from material and put flags on top!

To make our classroom more like Fairyland we have made Rapunzel pictures and learned how to plait.

We have also been sending letters to the Friendly Dragon after making old style paper in tea.

✩Scottish Week✩

During Scottish week we looked at different towns and cities in Scotland and plotted them on maps using co-ordinates.
We learned about Sir Alexander Fleming, the Scot who has saved millions of people discovering penicillin.
We looked at different Scottish castles and learned how to copy and paste pictures.
We carried on with our Scottish Dancing.
We also made Scottish flags from collage.
