Scottish Celebration Afternoon

We had a fantastic afternoon on Friday 24th. January celebrating everything Scottish!

The children were piped into the hall  by Mrs Fridge’s son and then the class winners performed their Scottish poems.

Each class then performed a songs/songs or a Scottish dance.

Mrs Chalamanda and the wonderful Ardoch Strings then performed The Skye Boat song.

Finally the overall class winners of the poetry competition were announced and the Bobby Muir Cup was presented to the overall winner.

Thank you to Mr Mackay and Mrs McGaffney who were our judges, to Mrs Fridge and her son on drums and pipes and thank you to all parents, grandparents and friends of the school who came along!

Harvest Service and the Macmillan Coffee Morning.

On the last day of term, all the children in the school performed a song, a poem or a talk about Harvest time.

Parents came along and thoroughly enjoyed this.

After the service we had our Macmillan Coffee Morning, where older children helped to serve delicious home baking contributed by pupils and parents.

Thank you very much to everyone who came along and to those who contributed home baking.

£279 was raised for such a worthwhile and important charity. Well done everyone!

Celebration and Achievement Evening and YE HA Show!

P3-7 put on a spectacular Western show called YE HA!

There was fantastic singing by everyone and also great solos too.

We had gun fights, devious mayors and hero cooks!

This was all followed by our Celebration and Achievement Evening .

Well done to everyone who took part (even P1/2 for extra singing voices) and to everyone who won awards on the night!

Scottish Celebration Afternoon.

On Rabbie Burns birthday, the whole school came together to celebrate this special day.

Each class performed songs or in the case of P6/7 , taught us new Scottish words. We also had the pleasure of listening to our marvellous P7’s playing violins.

We  had our annual Scottish Poem competition. Congratulations to all the children who represented their class in the poetry competition and our overall Bobby Muir Cup winner! A BIG THANK YOU to our judges who had a very difficult decision in judging all our brilliant finalists.
