P6 Extra Opportunity May 2026
We have been given an extra opportunity to have a day of Hoy Outdoor experiences as there was a cancellation opening.
We are using this opportunity to give our P6 children an experience to build their confidence for the full residential week next year. The cost has been significantly reduced which allows us to take advantage of the offer.
Notes:
Dear Parents/Carers
Just a reminder about the P6 trip to Hoy on Monday.
Could we ask that you drop your child off at the pier in Stromness for 9.40am and be back to collect them from there at 5pm.
Please ensure they have the following in a small rucksack;
Swimming kit and towel and old trainers that can be used for water activities.
Black bag for any wet items.
Suitable clothing, preferably layers that can be added and removed if needed.
Trainers suitable for walking.
Inhaler if needed.
Substantial packed lunch and a couple of snacks to keep them going all day.
Full water bottle.
No personal devices or valuable items should be taken.
If your child requires hay fever medication, could we ask you to administer this before you drop them off.
Thanks
Jane

P7 Hoy Trip 2026
First meeting has been held with Chris Jex in regards to the P7 Hoy Trip – 26/1/26
NOTES:
- Consent and medical forms completed by parents in good time to add to documentation.
- All medication forms to be completed by parents the Friday before, medicines to be delivered to teacher morning of departure.
- Parents to deliver children to Stromness Pier by 9:40am and be at Pier by 4:50pm on Friday to collect children.
- A substantial packed lunch to do until tea time will be required the first day, and a large full water bottle.
- Please do not bring sweets and treats, especially to share in rooms, as this is a serious choking hazard.
- We recommend a wheely suitcase as this is the easiest for the children to take up the pier themselves.
- The children will walk from the pier to the centre, their luggage will be transported, so they will need to wear good footwear for walking on the road and a warm coat for the boat.
- Remember to carry inhalers or give them to instructors for the walk.
- No mobile phones are permitted.
- The cost this year is £341.42 per pupil, understanding that all children will be going.
- Please contact the school if you feel you need help with costs – we have a participation fund for this sort of thing so everyone can take part.
