Today the p1’s learned all about the sound ‘s’. Can you find anything at home that has the ‘s’ sound?
The p2’s worked hard on ordering their numbers and finding 2 more than and 2 less than.
In the afternoon we read more of The Gruffalo and started making our Gruffalo pictures using the brilliant descriptions from the book.
Happy Monday everyone!
Today the p1’s learned all about the sound ‘a’ . They wrote the sound with chalk outside and came up with lots of words that have ‘a’ at the beginning.
The p2’s practised their capital letters and read words with 3, 4 and 5 letters.
This afternoon we listened to the story of The Gruffalo and talked about the different characters in the story.
(Sorry for the lack of photos – hopefully I will have it fixed by tomorrow).
Today in p1/2 we managed to dodge the rain and play outside in the afternoon.
In the morning we impressed Miss Murray with our super maths skills.
Some of us were ordering our numbers to 5 whilst others ordered their numbers to 20. We talked about ‘the number after’ and ‘one more than’.
(I am having photo issues – sorry, they won’t upload).
Have a great weekend everyone.
Today we read the story ‘The Rainbow Fish’ and talked about what makes a good friend.
Afterwards we made our very own Rainbow Fish and gave someone in the class a special silver scale to put on their fish.
For our class charter we decided to make a tree. For the leaves we thought it would be a good idea to draw around our hands and then cut them out.
Today we practised writing our numbers outside with chalk.
In literacy we read The Smartest Giant in town again. The Β p1’s completed a sequencing worksheet whilst the p2’s wrote some tricky words.
We have all worked so hard today.
The p1’s worked on their pencil control and practised writing their names whilst the p2’s worked on their number and letter formation.
In the afternoon Mrs McMillan worked with us and we learned all about patterns and read ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’.
We made it to Friday! Well done everyone for a great first few days back – you’ve all made a great start to p1/2.
Today we used different types of lines to make a pattern on our kites. We then carefully cut out our kite and attached a ribbon.
Afterwards we went outside and flew our kites in the wind.
Today the p1’s were in class without our p2’s. Everyone worked so hard and Miss Murray couldn’t believe how clever we are.
We learned about washing our hands and coloured in a poster to put up at the sink.
We used chalk outside in the playground.
In the afternoon we read a story and had to put the pictures in order. We had to cut, glue, stick and colour the pictures!
Welcome everyone to p1/2’s blog.
I will post photos of the fun things we have been doing in school and any important information.
Everyone had a great first day – you should be very proud of them.
