This morning we had our very first virtual assembly from Miss Ferguson, Mr Green and Mrs Thomson. They told us about the school homework and we found out this weeks star pupils ⭐️.
Please keep an eye on the main blog for school homework set by Miss Ferguson.
For Primary 1’s only:
The sounds and words below are the one’s we have already covered in class. Please find them in your wallet (that you got today) and practise them at home whenever you can.

For p1 and p2’s:
Unfortunately, due to guidelines, I am unable to send reading books home at the moment. Instead, we are using ‘Bug Club’ in class which can also be accessed online at home.
I have allocated a book for your child which reflects their reading level. Please read the book as often as you can. Encourage your child to sound out words they are unsure of and look at the illustrations to help them.
To access Bug Club please use your active learn login which you were given today on a card.
Along with their Bug Club login, I also gave the children their Sumdog login details. Sumdog is a fantastic website which allows children to practise their maths skills through different games.
We went on a pattern hunt outside in the playground to see if we could spot any patterns. Afterwards we used different things we found outside like leaves, stones and sticks to create our very own patterns.
Today we did some more work on The Hungry Caterpillar. We then used the paint to make our own symmetrical butterflies. We painted on one side of the butterfly, folded the paper in half, pressed the paper then opened it to reveal our beautiful, symmetrical butterflies. We were so happy with them!
Today is the first day of September…and the first day of Autumn.
In class the p1’s learned all about the sound ‘p‘ – can you remember any ‘p‘ words? Our p2’s worked on their common words and did some reading in class with Miss Murray.
Someone in the class lost a red cardigan last week and we can’t find it in school. Please can you have look at home incase your child has lifted it by accident – thank you!
Miss Ferguson is setting some homework activities for the whole school to take part in – please look on the main blog for more information.
