Blending Wednesday

Today we are going to be reading and writing words that have letter blends at the start of the word.

Warm Up:

Watch this video on letter blends:

Play this game on a tablet/phone or computer.
Click on the first box with the option for ‘sp gr sl fl‘. https://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/forestPhonics/index.html

Main Task:

In your jotter, sound out and write the words for each picture.
Remember to form your letters neatly.
You can draw the picture with the word if you would like to.

Extra Challenge:

Write out the words in capital letters as well as lower case letters e.g. drum and DRUM.
Try and write a sentence with some of the words you have written e.g. The frog and the crab got a drum.

Just a wee note to say thank you very
Much this has been really helpful,
Although taking a bit of time for the kids
To adjust.
Ben wanted to say hello and to let you know he misses you already and his friends. He also made a rainbow to put in the window to help bring a bit of cheer
We are planning to go a wee walk today to see if we can find any more in other
Windows.

Hi Natalie. I am so glad you are finding it helpful – if there’s anything else you feel you need then let me know. I can imagine it is taking a bit of time to adjust and get used to, its a weird scenario we are all in! I LOVE that Ben has made a rainbow for your window…there are a few on my street and they are so nice to see. I hope you found a few on your walk! I am missing everyone in the class too – tell Ben I say hello and can’t wait to see him and hear about what he has been getting up to. Stay safe.
