P4/5 Costumes & IDL

Primary 4/5 have been learning about living and non-living things as part of their IDL topic. Here are a few useful videos you can watch at home that helps you to learn about the similarities and differences of living things: animals and humans.

Each of the five main animal groups that have a backbone (vertebrates) can be classified or grouped depending on what they look like (characteristics).

Primary 4/5 Homework

Everyone has been given out a new homework grid with tasks for the full term. This has been discussed with each child and they know which resources they require for each task. for e.g. spelling – children are happy to take home spelling task cards/ activity leaflet/ spelling programme from the class.

Every Monday, each child should hand-in their homework with one grid box signed by an adult or coloured in to show it has been completed. The final Monday hand-in date is Monday 24th June and homework certificates will be given out.

Dojo points and house points will be given out for one homework task completed and handed in on time each week. One ‘Homework Star’ will be chosen and they will receive a reward. Good Luck!

Please try to keep your homework in the poly-pocket to keep it in one piece! If there are any problems, please do not hesitate to contact me. πŸ™‚

Reminder: ALL children should bring a water bottle to school to allow them to have regular drinks especially in warmer weather. You can bring in any kind of water/juice bottle that you have with a lid and refill it at our water fountain.

Thank you,

Mrs L. Maher

jeudi dix-huit avril 2019

Today Primary 4/5 took part in EGG-CELLENT Easter activities in the classroom including making chocolate easter cakes. We used the: microwave to melt pieces of chocolate, stirred in rice krispies, gave it a good mix, filled our Easter case then decorated with mini-eggs. Yum!

After break we celebrated winning ‘Woodlands Cool Class Cup’ with an extended break and a sweet treat. Mrs Maher has been delighted with Primary 4/5’s fantastic listening, excellent behaviour and everyone consistently following the golden rules. Keep it up boys and girls! πŸ™‚

Reminder: The school will be closed tomorrow (Friday 19th) and Monday 22nd for the Easter Weekend.Β  Pupils return Tuesday 23rd April at 9am.

‘Put A Nose On It!’

Today we enjoyed participating in our activity groups for Comic Relief’s ‘RED NOSE DAY’ by wearing red and having crazy hair. Everyone took part in improving their fitness through dance and enjoyed creating/ following a dance routine.

We focused on Article 24 – the Right to a clean, safe environment and Article 29 – the Right to develop our talents and abilities.

Well done boys and girls, you ‘Put a Nose on It!’ πŸ™‚

World Book Day 2019!

Today we celebrated ‘World Book Day’ by dressing up as our favourite book character or in our PJ’s with our story book. We have enjoyed a fabulously fun day full of activities based on the theme of Harry Potter. Everyone enjoyed making wands, taking part in a quiz, creating a Polyjuice potion, designed a crest and a house scarf and made a 3D origami bookmark.

Well done to all the wonderful Wizards and Witches for their hard work today!
