This week has been another busy week in Primary 4! πŸ˜ƒ

On Wednesday, we had Miss Ferguson visit us to see how well we have been working in class and to talk to us about our learning. πŸ“š

On Thursday, everyone was delighted to take part in some more outdoor PE as our Indoor PE has now been cancelled due to our new Covid restrictions. πŸ‘Ž

We are still enjoying our Daily Mile everyday to increase our physical exercise! πŸƒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈ ⛅️

Marvellous Monday! 😁

Primary 4 have been super busy today! ✏️

This morning, we learned about road safety with Mrs Davidson and we created a great poster to persuade others to β€˜Slow down in town’ and that β€˜20’s plenty.’ πŸš™ ❗️

In our Maths groups, we have been learning to focus on the Tens digit and Round to the Nearest 10/100 using a number line to help us and our rounding rule. >5 round up or <4 round down πŸ‘πŸΌ

Thankfully, we made it out for outdoor PE in between the rain this afternoon. We had 3 mini stations courses of 3 set up and everyone practised their golf skills. Well done to Brian and Connor who got a β€˜hole in one’ today! ⛳️

This week’s homework is on Teams and new Active Learn Bug Club books have been assigned. πŸ“š

Cyber bullying πŸ’»

Today in assembly, we learned more about Anti-bullying and how we can work together to bullyproof our school. During Big Writing we focused on up-levellingΒ  our writing, to include a variety of clever connectives and outstanding openers. Our next step is including a variety of punctuation.

This afternoon, we enjoyed getting fresh air just as the sun came out. It was cold and crisp! We also learned about Cyberbullying and how to stay safe on the internet. Everyone discussed cyberbullying scenarios, how they would react and we designed a poster to send a clear message to cyber bullies.

Rounding & Yoga

This week, we have come to the end of learning about Place Value and we will be moving onto addition and subtraction very soon.

Our focus this week has been using our number lines to help us round 2/3/4 digit numbers Β to the nearest 10. We can also use our rounding rule too: 5 or more In the units – round up or 4 or less in the units – round down. Our next step is Rounding to the nearest 100/1000.

You can try this at home too:

ANTI-BULLYING WEEK

This week is Anti-Bullying Week. In class we talked about bullying and how we should react to this. We alsoΒ  identified if something is rude, mean or bullying. We all agreed that emotional, verbal or physical bullying is not acceptable in any way.

Well done to those who wore their odd socks today to show that we are all different and unique and we can stand united against bullying!

Remembrance Day Writing, Art & Yoga

What a wonderful Wednesday it has been in Primary 4! πŸ˜ƒ

This morning Primary 4 included a variety of VCOP in their Remembrance Day writing. Whilst we were completing this, we took part in our 2 minutes silence to remember the soldiers and lost lives of those who fought in wars to keep our country safe. ❀️ πŸ’

After break, we created some awesome art. We began by developing our drawing skills using pencils to sketch out the lines and shapes of poppies. Soon after, we practised our painting skills then used shades of colour to create a natural effect. Tomorrow we will complete the background once the paint is dry, use pen for effect and finally display on our classroom windows. 🎨 πŸ–Œ
