https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button
Main Activity – Multiplying by 10 and 100🔵
- I can say that when I multiply by 10 the digits move one place to the left
- I can say that when I multiply by 100 the digits move two places to the left
- I can demonstrate using my rule accurately
Read the posters to remind you of how to multiply by 10 and 100.
Read each question carefully. Think about what it is asking you to do. When you multiply by 10 you will add a 0 to your answer as the digits move one place to the left. When you multiply by 100 you will add 00 to your answer as the digits move two place to the left. For example:
1. 45 x 10 = 450m
Remember to record m as you are recording the measurement in metres.
6. 104 x 10 = 1,040m
11. 47 x 100 = 4,700
14. 7 x 100 = 700
18. 49 x 10 = 490
Check over your answers and traffic-light your work. 🔍
