This morning we were focusing on our ‘Skill of the Month’ which is Communication. We have learned that ‘Communicating’ is more than just ‘Active Listening.’ In the classroom we took part in activities that showed us: paying attention, having good eye contact, showing positive body language, speaking clearly, taking turns, making choices of the correct language, asking good questions and sharing and respecting opinions and demonstrating ways we can be a ‘Good Communicator.’

After a while we are almost finished our Enterprise task of completing the Snowman Mugs. Yay! Today we had the last of the mugs decorated, baked in the oven then we started the packaging.
If you cannot make the Christmas Fayre on Saturday and you would like to buy your mug you may bring in Β£2.50 to buy it.
Over the past two days Primary 4 have been working on our product for the Christmas Fayre. Β We are really proud of our ‘SNOWMAN MUGS’Β and we are sure that they are going to sell well on Saturday!
Today Primary 4 took part in Christmas Fayre Enterprise. We have already discussed what we know about money and we developed this today buy paying for items using mixed coins and notes up to Β£5, Β£10 and Β£20.
Everyone has discussed our craft of making Snowman Mugs for the Fayre this Saturday including items we need, materials and packaging. We have worked out the cost and profit.
Today has been a busy Friday; we have been carrying out assessments in Literacy and finishing off tasks. Everyone is enjoying the new seating layout in the classroom. Each row has designed a group name and the winning design was chosen to go on display. We are now: The Megalodons, The Screamin’ Monkeys, The Little Kid Group and The Pink Piggies. Well done!

This afternoon we took part in an active assembly, enjoying a variety of fun activities.
A HUGE well done to our ‘Star Performer’ GA who won Best Group Dance recently.
Today in ICT Primary 4 enjoyed learning to develop their word processing skills. It was fantastic fun using Digi Puzzles and our favourite games to help us learn are: ‘Flags of the World’, ‘Laser Typing’, ‘Fruitpirate Typing’ and ‘Fire Typing’. Also, ‘Typing fast like a Rocket’ helps us to improve our typing accuracy and speed.
“Fire Typing is all about timing how fast I type my letters and numbers. It is amazing!” SS
“Flags of the World is all about guessing the flag of the country first then if you don’t get it on time the name comes up and I can type it correctly. It is brilliant!” ED
Primary 4 had a fun day today doing lots of exciting activities to help raise money for Children In Need. Some of us got to: paint Pudsey, go on a Pudsey hunt, make and eat a Pudsey biscuit, make up a Pudsey dance, make a Pudsey rap and use the i-pads to create a stop motion picture. It was fantastic!
Here are some of the boys and girls P1-4 enjoying Dance…
Primary 4 have been reminded to take home their Nativity song words to practise as part of homework. We will be using these every day next week – it is important children know the lyrics to be able to split into singing groups to fit the songs melody. We are doing great so far!
Also, the North Lanarkshire Sumdog contest opened today and a minimum of 10 playersΒ take part for our class to enter the leader board. It is free to enter – simply take part by playing maths games for fun on your account. We will check the leader board again on Monday.
Reminder: In your child’s bag there is a letter regarding ‘The School App’ for parents and important information about it too.
