Homework & St Andrew’s Day

Reminder: The FINAL day for Term 1 homework and books is tomorrow. P4/5 will be given out festive homework on Monday for December.

Thank you to everyone who has handed theirs in already – this has been marked and returned to the children. 🙂

Primary 4/5 will be celebrating St. Andrews Day tomorrow. There will be a Scottish themed lunch (see main blog page) and children will be taking part in some special activities in the school hall. Please remember to bring in a gym kit, including water bottle.

Children are also welcome to wear tartan tomorrow too! 🙂

Candy Cane Love-hearts

Today Primary 4/5 made their Candy Cane Love-hearts as part of their enterprise topic. We have the final touches of ‘Made with Love’ wrapping being added ready for Saturday.

Come along to our Christmas Fayre this  Saturday the 24th of November. The doors will open at 10am and close at 12noon.

There will be a range of interactive games for the children and all the old favourites such as the raffle, tombola, lucky dip, and home baking. Come and relax with a cup of coffee and a mince pie or a hot dog at our café.

As always all funds raised will be used to support the work of the school and in particular help subsidise the school trips in June 2019.

We’re super excited and looking forward to seeing you there! 🙂

Star Writers and Children In Need

Well done to today’s four Star Writers: MMcE, EW, MS and CMcK.

You wrote a fantastic set of instructions on ‘How to Make a Marvellous Medicine.’ You included: a title, questions to capture the reader’s interest, ingredients, method, time connectives, a variety of imperative verbs and also 4+ types of punctuation. Well done!

Note: Primary 6 are running a Christmas advent raffle.  Tickets cost 50p and you can win this wonderful chocolate advent calendar.  Tickets are on sale every day! 🍫🍬

Reminder: Tomorrow is CHILDREN IN NEED DAY! Could everyone dress up in yellow or spotty (even design/ make your own outfit) and donate £1 to support.

***make sure children bring an outdoor jacket and shoes***

With the money that we raise, this helps CIN provide grants to projects that improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

To help get you in the mood, why not get active and ‘GET YOUR EARS ON’ with Pudsey’s Super Movers routine.

See you tomorrow all ready for your spotacular activity day! 🙂

P4/5 Football, Baking & Parents Night

This week Primary 4/5 enjoyed their first football session with their coach from Clyde F.C He will be with us for the next four Tuesday’s, teaching us football skills. This week’s focus was passing and observational skills.

On Wednesday, we had the opportunity in the kitchen to bake ‘Halloween Cupcakes.’ First, we measured and emptied the ingredients into a large bowl. Next we whisked the mixture then spooned into the cases. After that, we baked for 22 minutes and left them to cool. Finally we decorated them and enjoyed them in the afternoon at our party! 🙂

Last night was our Parents Evening and it was lovely to speak with all of the parents regarding their child’s learning and next steps.

For more information about upcoming events within the school and important dates please refer to the newsletter and the blog.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

See you on Monday morning! 🙂
