Today, we started our topic for the week; Emergency Services π¨. We spoke about the importance of knowing our address and ordered ourselves smallest door number to largest door number, without speaking but using our communication skills.
Fun Fridayβs πββοΈ πββοΈ π¨π
Today, P7 took part in PE. We played games which focussed on using our Communication skills, mainly listening, looking, body language and speaking clearly and loudly.
I have also attached a video of our Northern Lights art and poems as I am so very very proud of everyoneβs efforts π π.
Have a great weekend!
Poetic Thursdays βοΈ π
Today, P7 were learning about Haiku, Limerick and Narrative poems. We focussed on creating similes, metaphors, onomatopoeia and personification examples about the Nothern Lights and our chosen settings in our art. We then used these to create poems. Pupils chose which type of poem format they wanted to follow. Β I am so proud of every single pupil for their hard work given to their poems. Here are a couple of examples…
Wednesday πΌ π¨ π
Today, P7 were creating their own setting and display for our Natural Wonder of the World, the Northern Lights.
We have also been focusing on our handwriting and letter joins.
March for MacMillan π
This morning, P7 discussed and listed their strengths and challenges. We then discussed how people can react differently to situations than how we intended them to for several reasons. We created drama scenarios in small groups outside to showcase how a simple interaction can escalate if we donβt use our verbal and non-verbal communication skills. π

Meet The Teacher π©π»βπ« π
Meet the Teacher
As we sadly can’t have Meet the Teacher in school, we have all created virtual Meet the Teacher videos to introduce ourselves and show you around the classroom. P7 have created the script, filmed, photographed the content and edited our video to show you the work they have been doing so far. πΒ
Mr Green is currently creating everyone a log in for Microsoft Teams, which is what our homework will be on after the September weekend. There will be one piece of Literacy, Maths and Other. Pupils will complete and upload their document or a photo of their written work and I will be able to mark it and send it back. Β πΒ
At home, you can support your child by encouraging them to read, to practise their times tables (pupils should be aiming to have quick recall of all tables from 2-12). In class we have practised 2, 3, 4 and 6 times tables so far. Pupils can use Topmarks, Sumdog and Active Learn at home. I will set Sumdog challenges every two weeks. Pupils can also access books through Bug Club, which we will be doing in class too. Β π βοΈ
Thank you for watching and I hope to see you all soon! π π
Stay safe,
Miss Park πΒ

Machu Picchu; The Lost City π΅πͺ
This afternoon, P7 watched some clips and learned about another new, man made Wonder of the World; Machu Picchu. This is a lost city in Peru made by the Incaβs. We took notes and used these to create posters in our jotters.Β
