This afternoon, Mr Hamilton, from Machanhill Primary, visited P6/7 to lead the learning of a STEM activity. We were experimenting with air resistance. To do this, we were running with a closed umbrella and timing each other and then seeing the difference in time running with the umbrella open βοΈ.

Today P7 were at the high school participating in PE activities including football, basketball, athletics, dancing, gymnastics and trampolining πΒ β½Β π€ΈββοΈΒ ππ»
Problem Solving & Enquiry
Today, we were very lucky and got to work with Mrs Keith. She was helping us explore the skill of Problem Solving and Enquiry and tried to solve a maths problem. We spoke through all the important stages in PS. Β We communicated and worked well together.
Eco Day
P6/7, P6 and P7 all rotated round each class to participate in eco activities for a Eco Day. We were designing our pots and planting cress seeds, parsley seeds and garlic chives to hopefully cook with once grown π§
Fairtrade fortnight π«
STEM
Today P6/7 carried out another experiment demonstrating friction using a bottle, rice and a pencil. It was like magic; we made bottles float.
In the afternoon, some pupils went to Machanhill Primary School to lead the learning to P7 of our friction experiment from yesterday. They done a fantastic job and should be super proud π!
STEM
Today P6/7 were experimenting with friction and gravity using wooden blocks on different materials. There was great teamwork and pupils recorded their results and explained which came first/ last and why.
NSPCC
Last Friday, we had a visit from the NSPCC who were raising awareness about speaking out.

P6/7 have been continuing demonstrating their abilities using the equipment.
Snowball Madness βοΈ
We all had a great time at Snowball Madness!
On Friday, we had a visit from the British Transport Police, explaining the importance of keeping ourselves safe near train tracks and the dangers.
