Good morning boys and girls ๐Ÿ˜

Are you ready for another week of online learning ๐ŸŒผ ?

This week, we are going to recap on angles.

Today, we are doing a short activity on types of angles.

Starter:

Watch the 2 short videos on this link and then complete the short quiz at the bottom.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zb6tyrd/articles/zg68k7h

Activity:

I can recognise and identify angles.

Write the name of each angle (acute, right angle, obtuse, straight angle, reflex).

Write estimated degrees for each angle using your knowledge of each type of angle.

(You can draw these angles out and colour -code the type of angle if you wish or just write the answers next to the letters).

If you notice a type of angle not shown above, can you draw your own example?

Challenge:

Finisher:

On Active Learn, you will see in your allocated games โ€œReel it in Game 14โ€. You can choose your level of difficulty by choosing Bronze, Silver or Gold.

Literacy:

Starter:

It has been over 3 weeks since we last read our class novel. Skim and scan the last chapter we read, Chapter 15, to remind yourself what happened.

http://www.samizdat.qc.ca/arts/lit/PDFs/LionWitchWardrobe_CSL.pdfย

Now verbally tell someone at home what happened in Chapter 15 (summarise).

OR

Skim and scan Chapter 15 then draw out (take on the role of the illustrator) a last memory from Chapter 15.

Activity:

Click on the link below. Go to page 95, or previous if you have chapters to catch up reading.

  1. What did Lucy think the Witchโ€™s courtyard was like at first?
  2. What did Aslan do to bring the statues back to life?
  3. How did they all get out of the Witchโ€™s courtyard?
  4. What did Mr. Tumnus tell Lucy about the giant Rumblebuffin?
  5. What was the change in the noise that gave Lucy an odd feeling?
  6. What was happening in the centre of the battlefield?

*Challenge*

  1. Why do you think the other lion was so pleased that Aslan had said โ€œus lionsโ€?
  2. What do you think the Witch was thinking when she saw Aslan?
  3. Thinking of the symbolism C.S. Lewis creates when comparing Aslan to Jesus, in terms of Christianity, what do you think Aslan saving the statues could symbolise?

Plenary:

I see, I think, I wonder (in your head, verbally to someone or written down):

From the film, look at this photograph. This is the moment when the battle paused; the White Witch saw Aslan for the first time since he came back alive.

What do you think the White Witch:

  • Can see? ๐Ÿ‘€
  • Is thinking? ๐Ÿ’ญ
  • Could be wondering? ๐Ÿค”
