Primary 6/7 and P3/4 are going to be working together over the next few days to create these beautiful cookie jars to sell at the Christmas Fayre!

iPhone Image 73888E

These jars will be on sale at the Christmas Fayre on Saturday 28th November from 10am – 12pm. Primary 6/7 are still working on the costings and haven’t got a final price yet for these jars but they will be sold for between £3 and £4 and make lovely Christmas gifts!

Excitingly pupils in P6/7 and P3/4 can pre-order these jars before the Christmas Fayre with any remaining jars going on general sale at the Christmas Fayre. If you would like one of these jars, please either comment on this post or phone the school and we will add your name to the list.

Thank you!

Children in Need!

Today we helped to raise £262.01  for Children in Need! Well done everyone! We learned about Children’s rights and how this charity supports them. We had a great time coming to school in our spots and taking part in a variety of activities. We even tried to unofficially break some World Records at assembly this morning! Have a look at the pictures of our day!

APPEAL FOR INFORMATION

Unfortunately a resident (and parent) on the approach to the school in Melrose Road has had their car damaged by a driver who failed to stop. This is the second time in the past few weeks that this has happened to this resident and parent. If you have any information can I ask that you please contact either the school or Cumbernauld Police.

Many thanks for your help with this matter.

Can I also take this opportunity to share with you the information regarding this matter from August’s newsletter.

Car Park

To ensure the health and safety of all children could I please remind you that the car park is for staff only and should not be used by parents when dropping off or collecting children from school.  This includes parents dropping children at nursery. In order to ensure the safety of all children the gates to the car park will be closed at the start and end of the school day.  Access to the school during the day is via the main gate and entrance. To ensure the safety of all children, no parents are permitted in the school playground during morning break or lunchtime while the children are out playing. Please note that parents must make use of the nursery entrance and not enter nursery via the playground, this is to ensure the safety of all children. We are currently working with NLC to devise a school travel plan to address the issues of parking congestion around the school and on the main road, more information on this will follow in due course.

CHILDREN IN NEED TOMORROW

Remember it is Children in Need tomorrow. Children are allowed to come to school in non-uniform but with a ‘spots theme’ and are encouraged to bring £1 to donate to Children in Need for being allowed to do so. Teachers and all adults in the school will be taking part too and there will be an assembly in the morning followed by children taking part in rights themed activities in their classes. It should be a really fun day learning about how children in Need helps to protect the rights of children in this country.

Can’t wait to see you all in the morning!
