A LOVELY STORY By Leila and Nicole

The blue umbrella

One day it was a sunny day.  Then it was a storm! Everyone put up their umbrellas most were grey but two were coloured. One was blue and the other one was red.  Then the people that owned the umbrellas split up.  The blue umbrella was split up from the red umbrella. The person who owned the blue umbrella started to close the umbrella but he couldn’t and the umbrella shot up to the sky and blew away. Then the blue umbrella was found by his owner with his girlfriend that had the red umbrella.

The end

The Kindest of Gestures

What a wonderful school we have, filled with hard working and kind pupils,  inspiring teachers and supportive parents and carers. It therefore came as no surprise to when one of our Primary 4 pupils, Julia, came to me to tell me about a wonderful and self-less gesture she was going to make.

Julia had been growing her hair for numerous months until it was long enough for her to have it cut so she could donate her hair to a charity who would use it to create a wig for someone who had lost their hair due to illness. This is such a kind and thoughtful gesture from someone who is so young and sums up the attitude and ethos of the pupils who attend Woodlands Primary and I wanted to share this lovely story with you all.

Julia is now sporting a beautiful new haircut and we are all very proud of her!

Each class will be given £6 to start a business and have one month to grow the business through innovative and interesting business ideas to raise money for charity. The money made will be used to help people in less economically developed countries start their own business.

Keep checking this blog and the classes blogs for the latest up to date progress of their businesses.
