Supporting 401 Challenge

We were so lucky today! Ben and his 401 challenge visited our school today. He ran through our playground cheered on by all of our pupils and we we even had our Cross Country Finalists run with him on his journey through our playground! It was a fantastic experience for all of the pupils and Ben is running for a great cause. To find out more about his challenge visit his website. There are details here also about the charities he is running for and how to donate to them.

Kid Power Celebration Day

As part of our Sport Relief Rights Activity Day we also celebrated Kid Power.

Children in P5/6 and P6/7 worked really hard in the month of January to raise as many RUTF food packages as possible. Both classes did amazingly well with P5/6 effectively walking to Moscow and P6/7 effectively walking to Morocco!

Since then both classes and the school in general have been working hard to keep as active as possible and have even been trying the Daily Mile!

We had a great time today celebrating our success and are really thankful to have had the chance to use Kid Power to promote a more active lifestyle with all of our children.

Kid Power!

Sport Relief Tomorrow and Supporting 401 Challenge

Tomorrow we will be supporting this year’s Sport Relief Appeal. Children will be allowed to come to school in their sport clothes in return for a £1 donation to Sport Relief. During the day children will be taking part in fun activities linked to Children’s Rights-remember to check the school blog and twitter on Friday night to see pictures of these!

As part of our activities tomorrow we are going to be supporting the 401 challenge. The 401 challenge is being completed by Benjamin Smith. He is completing 401 Marathons in 401 days! A fantastic feat – his 200th Run is in Cumbernauld tomorrow and a route which encompasses most of the primary schools in the area including ours has been created. He is going to run through the school grounds and receive the cheers and support of the children as he does so. I have said we would be happy to support him as he is raising money for two good charities (see website link above).
