The Big Spring Clean 1.6.16

The Big Spring Clean will take place tomorrow!

The children will be helping support Clean Up Scotland by taking part in a litter pick in the playground. NLC Cleansing Department will also be sending some of their vehicles along to provide the children with demonstrations & to give them a little insight into the work they do to keep Cumbernauld tidy.

As an extra ‘thank you’ for taking part Greggs have provided us with some yummy treats to enjoy 🙂

As the weather looks like it will be nice children are encouraged to wear sunscreen & they are welcome to wear hats & sunglasses too.

Last but not least, a thank you to all of the children too for giving every activity 100%

Sports Day 26.5.16

Just a reminder that tomorrow is our Sports Day!

Children are welcome to come to school in their sports clothes ready to take part. The plan is for most of the activities to take place outside so please encourage them to wear something suitable for the weather.

We are hoping to kick-off at 9.15 & the children will work their way around a number of stations including Go Karts, Zorbing, Scooter Fitness & Inflatables!!

The programme will run 9.15 – 10.25, then 10.50-12.00 & finally 12.50-2.50. We would love for you to come along to encourage your children & also to see how much fun they are having 🙂

The Nursery are also involved, so any nursery parents are welcome to come along too!

See you all tomorrow for what promises to be a brilliant day!

Young Writers

We received a very exciting letter today… some of our Primary 4’s & Primary 5’s are going to be published writers!!

A couple of weeks ago the children took part in writing competition called ‘Ancient Adventures’ where they had to write a 100 word story inspired by history. The successful pupils will now have the chance to have their work published in a book called ‘Ancient Adventures – Lanarkshire’ due to be published in August.

Successful children will have come home today with an envelope addressed to their parents. Parents need to give permission for their child’s work to be published.

I’m sure you will agree this is very exciting news & I look forward to reading their work in a published book!!

Sports Day 26.5.16

Just a reminder that Thursday is our Sports Day! This year will be slightly different as Micro Fitness are coming to lend a hand – with lots of exciting equipment!

As always, children will work around a number of stations collecting points. Parents are welcome to come & watch 🙂

We have a ‘Plan B’ if the weather is not on our side & although parents are still welcome to come & watch there may be some areas that will need to be restricted due to the size of the equipment & number of children involved.
