Higher Biologists

This week pupils will be learning about the cardiac cycle. A PowerPoint has been recorded so that students can watch and listen to their teacher explaining the stages of the cardiac cycle at a time suitable to them. Pupil notes and homework 6, covering this work is due for Tuesday 19th Jan.

Students should join the tutorial on Wednesday Period 3 so that any issues about this week’s work can be addressed. Students will need to submit their assignment on the cardiac cycle before Thursday 21st.

On Friday 22nd a live lesson will occur at 9am to look at “The Conducting System of the Heart”.

Higher Chemists

For Week 2  WB 18/1/21

Higher Chemistry students will continuing with their work on Unit 3 – Getting the Most Reactants. We will be focussing on “Gas Volume” calculations.

There is a recorded lesson, recordings of calculations and live tutorial on Friday followed by the weekly assignment. Great effort from all so far. Keep it up.

Higher Physics

Pupils should complete the following tasks:

  • Consolidation this week attempting given Electricity Past Paper Questions
  • Weekly tutorials with Mr Phairs Thursday 1&2, 5&6
  • Live Lesson Tuesday – Factors affecting capacitors charging and discharging, electrons at work.
  • Read and take notes on pages 24-25 in Summary Notes

S4 Physics

Pupils should complete the following tasks:

  • Watch the recorded lesson on the Live Lessons page on average and instantaneous speed.
  • Additional videos to watch in the Sway on each Teams Page.
  • Attempt at least every second question on Page 2-7 in the Dynamics and Space Problems booklets.
  • Quiz will be available in assignments on Monday 18th, to be submitted for Wednesday 20th.
  • Tutorial Thursday 21st October 3&4

 

S3 Biology

Please can you make sure that you have completed -ENERGY IN ECOSYSTEMS homework. You can also look at the bbc bitesize unit 3 Energy in ecosystems section. You can also watch youtu.be/lyJo2HW6bAM for a recorded lesson on this area. Next week there will be a live lesson on this area so watch your teams page post for the date and time. Keep safe .

S3 Chemistry

S3 Chemists will be starting a new topic called bonding. This week pupils will be focusing on Covalent bonding.  All classes have been set work on teams and have a video to watch, PowerPoint presentations to work through and there will be a quiz set at the end of the week to check pupil understanding and provide feedback on how they are doing.

On Thursday period 2 there will be a live tutorial session for pupils to attend. We will summarise the learning so far and answer any questions the pupils may have.

S1 Science

All S1 Science classes will be working through and Acids topic over the next 3 weeks. They will be working through a PowerPoint presentation completing tasks, watching videos and there is a few simple home experiments for them to try. Once this is completed they with have a research task to complete and a quiz set so that teachers can see how they are getting on with home learning.
