This week pupils will continue to work through the control and communication key area.  Initially they will complete tasks on hormonal control and then they will begin to work on Unit 3- Life on Earth,

• Students should read the ‘Transport systems in animals’ workbook p35-40 copying all the notes and completing all activities and questions.

Complete the self evaluation for all the subtopics covered in Unit 2 (up to absorption in animals) and all Unit 3 subtopics.

Students should finish their summary notes and the work set on the teams post last week.

This week the class will be taking part in live lessons to learn the stages of meiosis. Pupils will also work on  some essay tasks throughout the week.

Students have been asked to work through the two sets of past papers on Unit 2 key area 6 before Tuesday.  A tutorial will take place on Wednesday during periods 2 and 3 to go over solutions to the past paper questions.  Pupils should work through the PowerPoints covering regulation of the heart and blood pressure, completing all pupil notes and doing homework 7 before the live lesson on Friday, periods 1 and 2.

Good morning S3, I hope you all managed to have a nice relaxing weekend and are ready to start week 3 of home learning.

We will be continuing with covalent bonding this week and I would like you to complete the following tasks by the end of the week;

• Work your way through the two PowerPoint presentations taking notes in your jotter and completing any tasks given. The first PowerPoint is on revision from the previous weeks work and the second is looking at the properties of covalent bonding (new work).
• Attend the live lessons. I will be holding 2 live sessions this week. The first one is on Tuesday Period 2 and I will be doing a revision lesson on how covalent bonds are formed as some people are still struggling with this. The second session will be on Friday Period 2 and this will be a tutorial session with a summary of what we have covered and a chance for you to ask me any questions from this weeks work.
• Complete the assignment – I will be setting a quiz again on Friday using the assignment feature in teams for you to complete. Your teacher will mark these and provide you with feedback. This will allow us to check your understanding of the topic.

Week commencing 25th January

Recording of “Scalars and Vectors” live lesson are available within the live lessons team.

Relevant questions from problem booklets, videos and activities are detailed within the Sway on each class Team.

A quiz will be available within Assignments at beginning of next week, to be completed for Tuesday 2nd February.

Week commencing 25th January

All S3 pupils should join the “S3 Physics Live Lesson” team, details available within class teams. Mr Savage will host a live lesson on Monday 25th Period 1 & 2. This will also be recorded for those who can’t attend.

Following this, relevant questions from Problems booklets are to be completed (specifics available within class Team) and a quiz to be submitted in the Assignments tab by the end of the week.

Additional Past Paper questions will also be provided, with solutions to follow.

Scholar are running online tutor sessions for the N5 Biology course which are free to access. I would strongly encourage all N5 pupils to tune in to these at the times shown below.
