Sphero Bolts

23rd September 2025

Some of our Digital Leaders helped plan a coding lesson using Sphero Bolts, and delivered it to Room 6. We were a big hit, and they can’t wait to invite us back!

MP Visit

23rd September 2025

As part of UK Parliament Week, Rooms 12 and 13 had an informative and entertaining visit from our constituency MP, Frank McNally. We have been learning about the Scottish Parliament as part of our topic, and had a great Q&A session, which taught us more about Parliamentary procedures, and how our local MP can support constituents and represent them in the House of Commons.

Reading Recommendations

19th September 2025

We visited the children from the Reading Leadership Group in room 4 to help them choose and review a pre-loved library book. Then we made videos of our reviews, and linked the videos to a QR code. If you see our QR codes around the school, why not scan them for some reading recommendations?

Sugar Rush

18th September 2025

As part of National Coding Week 2025, we created some functional writing to help us program an online game called Sugar Rush. Then we worked with Room 10 to create a playable game, assess how accurate the instructions were, and decide what could be improved next time.

Parliamentary Visit

17th September 2025

Rooms 12 and 13 were pleased to welcome Philippa Mason from UK Parliamentary Education for a very informative visit. We learned more about democracy, the make up of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the UK Voting system, and the Legislative process! We then linked this information to our work on the UNCRC and our class charters.

Reading Buddies

11th September 2025

Room 1 invited the Room 13 representatives of the Reading Leadership Group to come round for some reading time – the senior pupils helped the infants to write book reviews, and they had lovely chats about authors, illustrators, and the different characters in their chosen stories.

Cool Coding

11th September

We coded our own character games today, and took notes, so that we can write and edit a piece of Instructional Writing. Then we will use our writing to teach another class how to code their own games.
