Room 13 were excited to get started on Project Real – a joint project between Glasgow University and NLC’s digital team to help us learn more about spotting fake news and identifying the use of AI. This week, we used the SHARE checklist to tell if news was fake or real, which prompted a huge amount of quality discussion!

Room 13 worked in groups to create their choice of Lego builds, then coded them to incorporate motion sensors, moving motors and LED light displays. A brilliant way of enhancing teamwork skills, reading comprehension and digital literacy! Our Digital Leaders will start rolling out the Raising Robots Lego Spike kits after the February break with some of the younger classes.

Room 13 had their first session of Samba class with Alan today. We experimented with shakers, go-gos, surdos, repeniques and tamborins, and can’t wait for next week!

Room 13 were grateful to our wonderful PTA, who injected a bit more festive fun into our first Christmas jumper day by running a ‘Treats and trinkets’ stall today.

Rooms 12 and 13 celebrated their Confirmation with a treat or two, which they shared with the fabulous sisters who were our altar servers at our service.
