Rm 13 loved their Paper Tower Challenge, set and judged by our visiting STEM specialists from St Andrew’s.
We had lots of fun teaching primary 5 how to code and so did the teachers and making fun things out of it like flashing hearts or showing a name string!(14 February)
This week, P7 planned and began teaching a series of lessons about coding Micro:bits to Rooms 7&8. They have evaluated how their lessons went, so they can plan reflectively for next week, and extend their lessons!

As part of their ‘Materials’ science topic, Room 13 hypothesised and recorded results during their density experiment this afternoon. Tomorrow, they will recreate the experiment with room 12!
More pupil-led learning for primary 7. We designed warm-up stations to help develop the basketball skills we wanted to improve based on our self assessments – agility and stamina, footwork and pivoting, and accuracy in passing/shooting
Primary 7 were looking boxing clever and rolling with the punches during their boxercise session with Bannan Fitness. St Patrick’s really are an upper cut above the rest
Room 13 transmitted codes via Bluetooth, to create Times Tables Microbit testers, which we then used as part of our Friday Math-a-go-round. We also played logic sequencing games, had a go at practical tessellating and geometry, and demonstrated awareness of variables using concrete materials.
As part of their World War 2 topic, Rm 13 listened to speeches made by Neville Chamberlain, Winston Churchill and Adolf Hitler. They then highlighted key words and phrases, and used them to create an outline of the speaker. Can you tell which is which? Zoom in for more detail
