In P6/7 we have been making the most of our opportunities for learning both in and out of class. We have taken the role of being a Buddy in our stride and have used the qualities of patience and understanding, to help the younger children to settle quickly and enjoy their new environment. The Primary 1 children do not ‘need’ us nearly as much but we hope to  remain firm friends. In HWB, the focus for learning has been how to manage change and developing the skills needed for empathy. We now know, how it feels to put ourselves in someone’s shoes and we are learning what to do, in tricky situations. We have enjoyed making the most of the last of the good weather and had the majority of our PE lessons outside. Orienteering was a real hit and definitely tested our skills in teamwork and problem solving. Today we started handball and are looking forward to learning how to play this new sport.
