To end the term everyone in Stepps Primary was allowed to dress down or wear a Christmas Jumper. We didn’t have any idea that there were so many different Christmas jumpers out there.

We invited the active schools coordinator, Ross Sweeney, in to do some orienteering with Primary 4S. The children were all advised that they should come prepared for any weather conditions. And just as you might have imagined we had just stepped out of the door when the rain started but we didn’t let that dampen our spirits. The children had to work cooperatively in teams to achieve the learning intentions. The first task we did involved the children having to read a very simple map and then select and arrange various objects to make different faces.
Then we went into groups of three and each child had a different job to do. We had a map reader, a recorder and a reporter/calculator operator. The children had to work together to read the map and then find the letters or numbers that they had to use. Every team worked very well together and even although some made mistakes they didn’t give up they persevered and went back to find the correct solution. Thank you Ross.
