All classes in Stepps Primary complete homework. This is issued on a Monday and is generally due to be completed by Friday of the same week. Occasionally teachers may set a practical task that may run over two or more weeks.
We believe in working in partnership with carers, and welcome your support to ensure homework is completed to the same standard your child is capable of in school.
Homework will consist of reading, plus written or practical activities that practise skills previously taught in class. This may be spelling, writing, maths, art, research, etc. Homework tasks allow you to monitor your child or children’s progress and support them as they practise developing skills.
Over recent years we have worked in partnership with the Parent Forum to ensure all parties have a common understanding of homework. As a result many help sheets have been made.
Hints and Tips when Learning at Home.
We asked you how we could make learning at home easier…
…You told us you were not taught in the same way as your child.
…You said you use different language when tackling number work.
…You explained how your child doesn’t always agree with the way you do a sum.
