Water Aid Visit

Last year Primary 4/3 did some amazing fundraising as part of their African Safari topic. We held a sponsored silence and raised an amazing £424.50. Water Aid are a really busy charity and it has taken some time to arrange a visit from a volunteer who works for the charity. We were so excited to meet Norma and find out all about what the money raised can do to help others who are not as lucky as we are.  She showed us short videos of children having to walk for 4 miles there and back up to 3 times a day in order to collect dirty water that is not fresh and clean as sometimes animals have been bathing in it, drinking from it or even going to the toilet in it.  We were pleased to hear that the money we raised is enough to provide a water pump for a village who really need clean, fresh water.  It was amazing talking to Norma, the class had some really great questions to ask her about the charity and as we ran out of time we emailed the questions we could not ask in person and she very quickly replied with super answers and information.  Well done Primary 4/3 for all their hard work raising the money and learning about the charity Water Aid.  Here are some of the photos taken on the day by our photographers Aaron Cocker and Mrs MacNeil (Class with Norma)
