Stepps Nursery

The children enjoyed taking part in our Big Chef, Little Chef workshop on 26th January. With the help of their Big cooks, they made some delicious vegetable cous cous and a fruit car. As well as preparing some tasty dishes, they learned about different ways to chop up vegetables e.g. tearing, snipping and cutting. Thank you to all of the parents who were able to come along.

Adventure Ted was launched in Nursery on Friday 15th January 2016. This session, we gave the children the opportunity to rename our little Bear buddies. The morning bear has been named, Pumpkin and the afternoon bear has been named, Alex. Everyone will get the chance to take a bear home and have some exciting adventures before the end of the session.

During the month of December, the children were exploring the letter resources on offer at the writing table and practising their emergent writing skills.

The children enjoyed their storytelling session with Mhairi from the Hi Five Fruit Initiative. After listening to Handa’s Surprise, they tasted a variety of fruit including passion fruit, mango, pineapple and orange.

We’ve been outside learning in all weathers. We measured the rain using our individually designed rainfall measurers.
