School Policy on Homework:
Homework is learning which takes place outwith formal classroom teaching. It enhances the development of the child as a whole and it complements school learning. It is primarily the responsibility of the learner himself/herself. St David’s Primary School has a whole school policy on homework.
All pupils are encouraged to participate in the homework activities which are set by their class teacher. Since the views of parents were sought before the policy was put in place their co-operation and encouragement is considered desirable. If your child was struggling with any aspect of the homework please do not hesitate to contact their Class Teacher. If you strongly felt that your child did not require any additional homework, please contact their class teacher who will be happy to discuss this further with you.
