All nursery children, who will be starting school in the August, will be allocated a Buddy. The Buddy will support and assist the child with things like hanging jackets up; fastening jackets and helping with the general routine of the school.
The child will be familiar with their Buddy and will have met them prior to finishing nursery. Buddies will be involved in one of the activities during the transition programme.
The Buddy programme begins in the April prior to the August with groups of Primary 6 children visiting the nursery and familiarising themself with the children.
