The Travel Team

Let us introduce ourselves. We are Lewis, Niamh, Erin, Matthew, Christopher and Harvey and we are the Travel Team.

What do we do?

We want to make sure that everyone is able to travel safely to school and we want to encourage active travel.

What is active travel?

Walking, cycling and scooting. We want to see more pupils using their feet, bikes and scooters!

What if you need to bring your car?

We are not against cars, but we don’t want to see them outside the school gates.

DO NOT:

Park on or opposite the zigzags – a clear road is safer to cross

Park on pavements – children are trying to walk there!

Block driveways – don’t be lazy – park somewhere else!

Where should you park?

You are allowed to use St. Brendan’s Chapel car park.

OUR AIM

We want to see a clear road outside the school in the morning and afternoon so please park in the chapel car park or even better why not walk, cycle or scoot!

Thank you for reading and remember to pass on the message to anyone who drives to the school!

Primary 5 Term 2

Term 2 has been a busy term here in Primary 5. We have been learning lots of interesting facts about the Romans as part of our IDL theme. We have learned about a variety of  emperors, the Roman army and will be creating some Roman mosaics in a similar style to that used by the Romans themselves.

In maths we have been focusing on money, area and perimeter and 2D and 3D shape. We will be looking at the nets of shapes in the coming days, creating our own 3D shapes using art straws.

We also hope you enjoyed our recent Christmas show. We spent a lot of time rehearsing for it and we made sure our singing voices were excellent for you all to listen to and enjoy.

We hope you have a relaxing holiday and we would just like to say, ‘Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,’ from all of us here in Primary 5.

Hello from P6/5

As we continue on our journey we have left the rainforest behind and are counting down the days to Christmas in our new topic looking at the many, and different, Christmas traditions around the world. Mrs Oates joined us as we worked in small groups, looking at all the continents and naming some countries on each.

In Maths we have been working on money, learning about many aspects such as budgeting; profit and loss and ways of paying for items, hopefully this will stand them in good stead for later on in life.

We thoroughly enjoyed our second outdoor session, really using our imaginations to see what pictures we could see in the clouds – it was amazing!

Our practices are going well for our St Andrew’s Day concert and we also have begun preparations for the Christmas Show learning a mixture of carols and popular songs.
