Update from Primary 3M

This term Primary 3M have been very busy preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We have been working very hard in school and at home to ensure we are fully ready to receive this Sacrament on the 23rd of March. This week, we have been discussing our own Baptism and sharing photographs and memories from this special day. We have been listening to and discussing the Baptism of Jesus and exploring the important symbols associated with the Sacrament of Baptism.

Primary 3M thoroughly enjoyed our ‘World of Work’ day on 25th of January. The children learned lots of information about a variety of different professions.

An Update from Primary 4

Children have enjoyed some great learning experiences so far in Term 3. We have been experiencing outdoor learning where the whole school enjoyed an adventure trail walk to Baron’s Haugh on Thursday 2nd February. Children found a variety of interesting plants, trees and shrubs, noting the change of colours in the foliage as we approach the season of spring. They even built a camouflage shelter with Mrs Booth and Mrs Leonard!

The class have been enjoying working with the students from Motherwell College on a Tuesday morning, learning new fitness and stamina skills and working in teams as part of the school’s PE programme. Children have been making healthy fruit salads on Wednesday afternoons with Mrs Young in our cookery class.

Primary 4 have been learning about Robert Burns, his poetry and songs. In another topical theme, Primary 4 have been learning about the Chinese New Year, while creating some colourful art and craft activities to celebrate this festival.
