We are in the final Term of Primary 1, what a quick year that has been! Term 3 was a busy term and Term 4 is already just as busy as we prepare for our summer show.
Literacy
The children have been very busy learning their phonemes, sounds and words and completing new and challenging activities during Literacy time. We have been working hard on sentence writing and practising using capital letters and full stops correctly.
Numeracy
In Term 3 we learned about adding and subtracting and we loved taking part in new activities
and games and using our knowledge of number. We are currently learning all about money and we love having a little shop in our role play corner to consolidate our learning.
IDL
Last term was all about ‘Our Community.’ We went on a lovely community walk to see our surroundings. We observed our local area and made lovely drawings of the towers, the shops and our homes. We loved learning all about google maps and using this to find familiar places from our community! We used a map of the classroom to complete a scavenger hunt and even made our very own classroom maps.
In Term 3 we have had lots of sports opportunities. We had a Tae Kwon-Do taster session, which we loved! We also had our Health Day, where we had the chance to take part in lots of fun, active activities.
School Show
Show practice is well underway in St Brendan’s. Primary 1 have been working hard with their singing and learning the words to their songs for our show. We love being on the stage and can’t wait for you to see what we have been working on!
