Another successful and busy week within St. Brendan’s Primary. Our pupils have been busy working hard and representing the school at various events.
Firstly, a huge congratulations to the 25 children who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation last night for the first time. The pupils have worked hard at school and at home to prepare for the sacrament. Thank you to you – their parents and carers for supporting them on this journey and to their teachers for preparing them so well.
Double Digits Survival Guide
This week, our Double Digits Survival Guide group completed the programme and celebrated with an afternoon of play. The children have learned more about how they can be ambassadors for their own and others’ rights in the community and developed their skills in identifying and managing risk so they can help make Muirhouse a safer place to be. All children are being recommended to receive a Youth Scotland Hi5 award. Well done!
Thank you to Mrs. Fleming and Mrs. Park, who are now trained facilitators of the Double Digits Survival Guide programme, and our friends at Muirhouse Primary School for joining us each week to work together on this achievement.
Football Updates
Unfortunately our Girls Football Festival was cancelled due to inclement weather last week however, there are plans for a further festival in the summer term.
Both of our Boy’s Teams have experienced success this month. One of our teams attended a tournament in Cathedral Primary at the start of this month. They won 5 out of 5 games which led to them winning the tournament and trophy! A great achievement – well done boys!
Yesterday, Thursday 19th March, our other boys team attended a Fair Play Festival at Fir Park and came 2nd out of 5 teams. This festival focuses on not only the score, but also teamwork, fair play and sportsmanship. Well done boys!
St Brendan’s Cursed Choreography – Dance Troupe
Congratulations to our 2026 dance squad for winning gold at the North Lanarkshire Active Schools Dance Competition. They have worked so hard since January and have shown dedication by staying after school twice a week to work on their routine. Well done! Here is their winning performance…
