Welcome back to the new school session. We hope our families have had a lovely and restful summer. All staff have been working hard yesterday and today in preparation for the children returning.
A few things to start our year:
A wee reminder of our school day timings:
P2 – P7 children 8.50am-9.00am. We operate a ‘Soft Start’ and all children should be in school for 9am.
Primary 1 Pupils– 10am start (tomorrow only) Please bring pupils to the school hall. We ask that only 1 or 2 adults accompany each child to the hall. This is to help create a calm and smooth transition for all pupils.
All pupils will be dismissed at 3pm. As in previous years – P1 & P2 will be dismissed at the main entrance, each child will be handed over to their parent/carer by the Class Teacher.
P3 – P7 will be dismissed through the infant yard.
We ask all adults NOT to enter the yard at any point for Health & Safety reasons.
Nursery – Returning Children
Our nursery staff are looking forward to welcome back returning children at 8.50am.
Pick up time for nursery children – doors will open at 2.45pm.
We ask that all parents observe drop off/pick up times for both school and nursery. If there are any concerns around this please speak to a member of SLT.
Friday 15th August – Holy Day of Obligation
Friday 15th August – This is the Feast of Assumption, as it is a Holy Day of Obligation P2 – P7 pupils will attend Mass in the parish at 9.30am. Due to this being Primary 1 pupils’ 2nd day of school we will not take them to Mass on this occasion.
Weekly Blogs
Our weekly blog will return on Friday 22nd August – please make sure you check it out to find out what has been happening in St. Brendan’s. More information to follow!
Finally we wish everyone the best of luck and look forward to a busy and exciting year of learning ahead! If there is anything we can do to help, please contact the school office who will pass this to SLT and we can work together to support you and your child(ren).
