Hello from Primary 2 and Miss Degnan!

We have enjoyed a term filled with fun and learning.

During this term we have been revisiting phonemes previously taught in Primary 1 in order to consolidate the children’s learning and have also moved on to look at some new phonemes following the Active Literacy programme. In numeracy we have looked at time and have also been learning about place value through both written and active tasks.

In Primary 2 this term we have been looking at the topic ‘Under the Sea’ in IDL. The children have enjoyed researching different fish and exploring their habitats, as well as recreating the Rainbow Fish in expressive arts and purposeful play in our ‘Under the Sea’ themed home corner.

In science we have been exploring living and non-living things which has married in nicely with our IDL topic for this term as we have explored different species and features of fish, as well as food chains.
