Hello from Primary 4/3, Mrs Bridge and Miss Peattie. This term has been filled with lots of learning and lots of fun!

This term, we have been revising and learning phonemes through the Active Literacy program. The Green Group have been learning the comprehension strategies through the reading of this term’s novel “The Invisible Dog” which we all loved to read. The Red and Blue Groups have explored a number of texts and discussed character setting and main ideas. We have enjoyed writing narrative stories and creating interesting fact files about the Rainforest.

In Maths, we have been learning place value and rounding. We have also been learning about time and have enjoyed both the written and particularly active tasks.

We have been learning lots about the Rainforest during our IDL topic. So far we have focussed on rainforest climate, its layers and its living things. We enjoyed creating the sound of the Rainforest by designing Rain sticks.

As part of our “Healthy minds. Healthy Bodies” afternoon we focussed on Growth Mindset. We love discussing our growth mindset puppets and enjoyed learning about the story of “The Dot” that taught us about the importance of never giving up and to always try our best. We then created fabulous and artistic drawings from one dot that are proudly displayed in our classroom.

During our outdoor learning, we completed various autumn nature challenges such as writing our name using sticks and making bird nests.

Thank you for your continued support.
