What a week!

We have had a fun filled week in Primary 2! The children all had a great time at their party at the start of the week and they all thoroughly enjoyed movie duvet day today. On behalf of myself and all of the children in Primary 2, we would like to wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful new year.

Jumping for joy!

We continue to have fun when learning about athletics as part of our P.E. studies. This week, we learned about how to combine different jumping styles and how to jump for length. We have some very impressive athletes inĀ  our school! I wouldn’t be surprised to see some Olympic gold medals being awarded to some St Bartholomew’s pupils in future…

Primary 1 party time.

Everyone had a ball at our Christmas party this afternoon. See all of the action on our Twitter feed. We played pass the parcel, musical bumps, musical statues and had lots of fun dancing. Santa even came to visit us!

Christmas comes closer!

It’s been as busy as Santa’s Workshop here in P6 as we complete our Christmas Books in preparation for next week’s Book Launch.

We have been improving our work by editing and proof-reading to check for sense, punctuation and spelling. We have also been adding or changing words to enhance our stories and we have been coming up with some excellent similes and metaphors to make our writing that little bit more special…

Invitations have now gone out for next week’s Book Launch which will take place in our beautiful new libraryĀ on Wednesday atĀ 2:00pm. Please come along, if you can, to hear about our learning journey and, of course, sample our stories and some sweet treats! We look forward to seeing you there!

‘Our School’ – Episode 6

This week, we studied some of the beautiful Christmas decorations that have sprung up around the school . We saw some incredible class wall displays. These displays made very interesting use of glitter and fake snow to create really striking visual effects. We also noticed that a lot of classes have their own Christmas trees in their classrooms. Some teachers are very proud of these trees… Finally, we noticed that the stage has been decorated as well. We have been practicing for all of our school Christmas shows and our school stage is the perfect setting for these performances.

See you next time!

Primary 3 had a ball this afternoon at our annual St. Bart’s Christmas lunch. There was music, chit chat and lots of very full bellies! It has definitely created a festive mood in class in the lead up to our wonderful Sleepy Shepherd Nativity performance on Monday!
