A P6 Catch Up

So our new term has started really well. We have a new topic to work on called The Scottish Wars of Independence. We have been busy finding out about the events and people involved and we’re. Here are our pencil sketches of some of the characters we have been studying. Can you figure out who they are..?

In other news, we were treated to a special Samba drumming event last week. Here are some pics of us enjoying the beat…

We are also having great fun in the STEM zone. We have used our design and building skills to make some fantastic models. If your picture isn’t here don’t worry it will be posted another day. Also check out our Twitter feed for more photos and see your child’s work on their dojo page!

Catching up with Primary 2/3!

Last week primary 2/3 were working hard in class:Β individually, with a partner and in groups to solve different multiplication questions and activities.

We also began researching some information about our new topic for this term ‘The Ancient Egyptians’. With a partner we were able to access a specificΒ website and chose a specific topic area to record 3 facts about.

Also on Friday morning we came into class to a wonderful surprise…

A little fairy has popped into the class and left a beautiful bright and sparkly door in our classroom. Primary 2/3 were working very hard on Friday and managed to work so quietly that during lunch the fairy popped out of her door to have a look around, leaving a glittery trail for everyone to see.

We were so excited about what could be behind the fairy door we just had to write a story about it!

A Catch Up with Primary 4.

We have had a busy start to this term which has seen us do a range of activities. Last week we enjoyed in playing and taking part in the Samba music class. It was so much fun playing with the drums and the cow bells. We had ear protectors just in case, but by the end we didn’t need them!

This term we have started our new topic ‘The Victorians’ which has been fascinating so far. It has given us lots of opportunities to work in groups and become historians! In class we have been researching lots about Queen Victoria and what happened during her reign. We created a timeline of Victoria’s life and the special events that happened.

We have been working on our talking and listening skills by doing group presentations. We first came up with important presentation skills and what we need to look out for in group presentations. Once a group had presented we peer-assessed and provided back feedback. We will continue to work these skills.

Sea Monkey Diaries

ENTRY 3

Our Sea Monkeys have now all hatched and are beginning to grow. Today they received their first feed to help them grow bigger and stronger. We must feed them every 2-3 days to keep them healthy and everyone is helping out with the responsibilities. What a grown up bunch we are becoming!

‘Our School Episode 9’

Today, we visited the ‘Get Together Room’. This might well be one of our favourite rooms yet!

In the ‘Get Together Room’, you can see places in which you can be comfy and talk with your friends. The couches are so comfy that we think you could almost fall asleep when you are sitting on them! In this room, there is an oven and cooking equipment so you can even make food in here. In this room, we have made empire biscuits. We also found a secret door…

It’s great to be back :D!!

P2/3 have had a fantastic start back to school this year.

We have been very busy in class deciding on our new year resolutions and discussing them with each other.

We also took a trip to the ICT suite and logged onto our own personal GLOW accounts and were able to take part in a class discussion where we could like and reply to each other’s comments.

Finally we had a great time taking part in the Samba workshop.
