P5 Daily Plan Friday 3 April

Good morning everyone, it’s Friday! It is also the last day before the Easter holidays so we are having an Easter themed day. I hope you enjoy your tasks!

P.E.

Try to get some exercise at some point today, you can choose what you do.

Handwriting

I have given you a document with two Easter poems you can choose one or do both. Remember you should be writing in a joined style. Don’t forget punctuation!

Comprehension

I have given you a passage all about Easter to read. Once you are finished answer the questions underneath. If it helps you could highlight the answers in the passage once you find them just like we do in class.

Maths

Easter Joke Code Breaker – have a go at the multiplication challenge, the worksheet is in today’s folder.

I have also given you some Easter maths challenge cards instead of mental maths today, I will post the answers later.

Sumdog – There’s always lots to do on Sumdog, have some fun on a game of your choice.

Art Competition

I have given you an Easter egg template. The challenge today is to design your own egg. You can use whatever pattern you like but you must use bright colours. I will choose a winner at the end of the day and send them a certificate on Class Dojo. Good luck!

Once you have done all of your tasks it is time for Fun Friday, let me know how you decide to spend your Fun Friday time!

Have a great day!

P6a Daily Plan Friday 03.04.20

Good morning everyone! Here is today’s plan. Lots of activities to keep you busy on the last day before the holidays. If you need anything at all, just get in touch. Remember, just try your best 🙂

LITERACY

1. Story writing – Click on the picture to make it bigger.

You are going to use this setting to write your own story. I have added it to the Literacy section of Glow too. Look at the picture, what do you see? Read the sentence at the top, what does it tell you?

  • You have a setting, decide on characters for your story, note them down.
  • Decide on a plot, what is the problem? What is the turning point in your story? There is a file to help you on Glow, with some ideas of what your story could be about.
  • Jot down a quick plan to keep you on track.
  • Start writing! I’ve put an example of an opening on the sheet on Glow. Use this if you like. Please send me your stories on Dojo, I can’t wait to read them.

Don’t worry if you don’t get your story finished today, we will come back to it. Remember what it is like in class when we are writing, it can take us longer than normal Literacy tasks 🙂

NUMERACY

2. Group 1 – Complete Questions 15-19 of Dividing decimals by 10 and 100 and Bodmas 03.04.20′. The Bodmas question is No.20, we will leave that for another day 🙂 Remember to divide decimals by 10, you move the digits one place to the right.

Group 2 – Complete ‘Addition Page 1 03.04.20’. We have looked at Subtraction using chimney sums. We looked at addition before this in class. Here is some revision to help you remember.

3. Sumdog – have some time on Sumdog, only if you get all of your tasks finished.

ART

4. Click on the image to make it bigger. These animals have been created using toilet roll / kitchen roll holders. Try to create your own, you can use whatever you like to colour them, pens or paint might be best, just make sure you clean up when you are finished. If you haven’t got toilet roll holders, why don’t you try making some animals out of other items you have at home. I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Have a great day of learning everyone!

Remember, I am here if you need me for anything at all, just get in touch.

Miss Kiernan’s Easter Challenge!

Hi All

I hope everyone is well and keeping busy!

I’ve added a special Easter challenge for you to try.

Use all of your senses – your eyes, ears, smell, taste and touch and write a sensory poem all about Easter! I’ve added a template for you in Miss Kiernan’s challenge folder. Give it a go i’d love to see some of the finished masterpieces.

Try and choose some Stem challenges during Easter to complete from menu 3 in the challenge folder.

I hope you all have a lovely Easter and stay safe.

P5 Daily Plan Thursday 2 April

Good morning everyone, what another busy week you have all been having, I have been keeping an eye on your work over the past few days and I am so impressed with all of the posts on Dojo and Glow, keep them coming please!

P.E.

Make sure you get some exercise today. You could do P.E. with Joe, yoga or another class you have found on youtube.

Writing

Today for your writing task I would like you all to create a fact file about someone famous.

  • First of all you will have to do your research and find out as many facts about your chosen celebrity as you can.
  • Once you have gathered all of your information you need to organise it into a fact file.
  • I have given you a template to give you an idea of what you could do. You might want to type yours up and make it look very professional or you might want to choose your own layout on a piece of paper.
  • Remember your core targets for writing, especially punctuation.
  • I will be choosing some star writers today so please send me your work. If you don’t show me your fact file, I can’t choose you!

Maths

Mental Maths – Thursday’s questions are next to the ones you did yesterday with Mrs Wilson in the Mental Maths folder. Have a go at them and I will post the answers later.

Espresso – Properties of Numbers

  • I have given you a document which explains how to access the activities on Espresso for today’s lesson.
  • Have a go at all of the different parts by using the videos, activities and worksheets. Let me know how you get on.

Sumdog – Try today’s properties of numbers challenge. I will open the house later on today.

Art

Let’s get crafty! Did anyone buy too much toilet roll over the past few weeks?

Use some empty toilet roll holders to make some animal creations like the ones below. If you haven’t got toilet roll holders, why don’t you try making some animals out of other things? I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

Mrs MacLean’s Challenges

You usually work with Mrs MacLean on a Thursday so why don’t you go into her folder and try some of the tasks she has made for you.

Have a great day!

Miss Connor
