P6a Virtual Classroom 27.05.20

We are going to be learning about meteors and meteorites today and creating a visualiser with interesting facts. We will do our mental maths and Sumdog today! And this afternoon, there is something quite fun for you to design! Please send me what you come up with. I am in the hub today so don’t worry if I don’t get back to you right away, I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Here is today’s suggested plan. 🙂

9.00 – 10.35: LITERACY
09:10-09:30 Spelling (ALL)
–Find your words for today and write them out in pyramid writing.

09:30 – 10:35: Reading (ALL)
Gryffindor and Ravenclaw
– Open the folder called ‘Gryffindor and Ravenclaw’ within the Literacy section of our Glow page. You are going to re-read ‘Stig of the Dump’ if you have to in the ‘Gryffindor and Ravenclaw’ folder on Glow. Then answer the questions in the file called ‘Stig of the Dump comprehension questions 27.05.20’. The questions show how many marks each question is worth. Use this as a guide as to how detailed your answer should be – the more marks the question is worth, the more detailed the answer should be! You might want to use your summaries from yesterday to help you!

Slytherin
– Open the folder called ‘Slytherin’ within the Literacy section of our Glow page. You are going to re-read ‘Ivan the Terrible’ if you feel you have to in the ‘Slytherin’ folder in the Literacy section on Glow. Then answer the questions in the file called ‘Ivan the Terrible comprehension questions 27.05.20’. The questions show how many marks each question is worth. Use this as a guide as to how detailed your answer should be – the more marks the question is worth, the more detailed the answer should be! You might want to use your summaries from yesterday to help you!

Hufflepuff
– Open the folder called ‘Hufflepuff’ within the Literacy section of our Glow page. Access the Literacy apps within the folder and access ‘Vocabulary Builder 4’ and ‘Vocabulary Matching 4’.

10:50-12:30: NUMERACY
Mental Maths (ALL)
– Open the folder called ‘Mental Maths’ within the Numeracy section of our Glow page. Complete Wednesday of ‘25.05.20 Mental maths 2’.
– Practise the 8 and 9 times table.

Squares
– Today we are going to do some more revision of near doubles. Open the ‘Squares’ folder within the Numeracy section of Glow and complete the exercise called ‘Near doubles 27.05.20’. Let me know how you manage!

Triangles
– Open the ‘Triangles’ folder within the Numeracy section of Glow. Open the folder named ‘Addition and subtraction’ and complete the exercise called ‘Making the nearest 1000 27.05.20’. Let me know how you manage!

Circles
– Open ‘Circles’ folder within the Numeracy section of Glow. Go to folder named ‘2D and 3D shape’. Complete the exercise called ‘3D shape 2 27.05.20’.

I’ve uploaded new tasks into today’s folder in the Health and Wellbeing section on Glow (beneath the blue class tiles) with lots to choose from. Our health focus for this week is Acts of Kindness and there will be a new health activity each day to reflect this. We also have some fun daily challenges coming up as well so stay tuned!

Morning All

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Primary 1- 3 – Today I have set some literacy challenges! Unscramble the words to make sentences. I have added the task into your class folder. Remember to include a capital letter and a full stop.

Primary 4-5 – Improve the boring sentences by adding powerful verbs, adverbs and using super adjectives. I have added the activity into your class folder. Don’t forget your punctuation.

Primary 6-7 – Choose a character from the book you are reading and complete the character description powerpoint I have added into your class folder. Remember to use adjectives, adverbs, similes and metaphors.
