We had a ball this morning completing our sponsored circuit training in the gym hall. Although it was very hard work everyone managed to complete all of the exercises and Mrs Maclean even joined in for a few!

In Primary 2 we have been learning about place value over the past few weeks and we have been focusing on tens and units. We used dienes materials to practice with a partner and we loved making up questions for each other. We also learned how to play the shark game on the smartboard and we are getting very good at it!

We have had a wonderful afternoon as it was the Primary 1 prayer service. Some of our family members came to visit our classroom afterwards to have a look at our jotters – they were so impressed!
Here are some of our comments:
“Our prayer service was so much fun” Kaidyn
“I liked singing along to the songs” Bridget
“I liked saying my prayers” Jamie
“I enjoyed showing my jotter to everyone” Cody
“I liked seeing my mum in the audience” Olivia
During maths time we have been learning to order jumbled up numbers. Today we split into groups and used number tiles to help us.
We are very much looking forward to a well deserved holiday weekend after such a busy week in school! Miss Duffy is delighted with us!

We have been exploring 1960’s clothes this week. Here we are printing our own patterns onto a blank canvas ready for our designs!
Here are the finished designs on our 1960’s washing line! Look at the mini skirts, bell bottom trousers and a sixties tie designed by Rhian for Mr Young!
Primary 1 have also been learning how to order numbers. Today they used the numicon to help them.
At the end of the day, Primary 2 were a wonderful audience for Primary 1’s prayer service. It was a lovely afternoon and it was very nice to see so many visitors in our school. We hope you had a pleasant afternoon.

Here in Primary 2/3 we have been working hard at numeracy time to learn our number names. We did some fabulous detective work to match the numbers and then quizzed our partners afterwards!

Here in Primary 1/2 we have been composing our own Pop Art pictures. Our inspiration can not only from our 1960’s topic, but from our Active Health lessons in PE with Mrs Carlin. Can you see all of the different ways we can move our bodies – what fun!
Also today, here is a star dancer. She even had to have a few helping hands to show off her medals – WOW!!!
You can also see our 1960’s information wall outside our class. Here we have displayed some of the facts we have discovered during our topic.
Pablo, our class bear has been on his travels. Last week he went home with one of our Primary 2’s and he visited her Papa in hospital, went to music club and dancing and even managed to watch a film in the evening.
This weekend, he had an adventure with a Primary 2 boy! He went to church and even helped take down the offertory, he went to the park, saw the ducks and had a go on the zip wire and he went really fast!

Primary four worked very hard on their peace images today. First of all we wrote our prayers and decorated our footprints and then when the sun came out we ventured outside to draw peace chalk art in the yard. We send all our prayers and thoughts to those who are refugees from Syria. We hope they can find a new life filled with peace.

Today St Bartholomew’s Primary are marking the International World day of Peace by remembering and praying for the Syrian Refugees. We have been learning about the plight of these people and so to show our support, each child in the school is making a prayer footprint. These are all being dislayed to represent our concern and prayers as these brave people continue on their dangerous journey for a better life. Each child has been asked to make a donation of £1 to the SCIAF appeal and we will be collecting this all week. The theme of the next two week’s Tuesday morning prayer service will be peace in our world when we will be praying in particular for the refugees. All pupils, staff and parents are welcome in the Oratory before school.
