A look back at term 2 in pr 6/7

Happy New Year! We can’t wait to start term 3!

Before we do here is a little look back at our highlights from November and December!

Micro Tyco

Our school decided to join in the micro tyco challenge during November. This involved us getting into teams and coming up with business plans to raise money. The money then got sent to other countries to help those less well off to start their own businesses. We had great businesses set up: guess the monkey’s birthday, Pokemon sale, toy sale, popcorn and candy floss stall. Phew it was all very exciting and we raised hundreds of pounds!

Safety!

We have been learning a lot about making safe choices, peer pressure and how to deal with threatening behaviour. We even had a visit from the Police who gave us great advice!

Buddy time!

We have had so much fun and experience working with our little buddies. We help them to read, write and to set targets for learning. They surprised us with beautiful thank you cards.

We have been really enjoying cooking lessons from a high school home economics teacher. We have learned all about safety in the kitchen, hygiene, different food groups and of course how to make tasty meals!

We are really becoming good at netball. We have loved our lessons and we enjoy playing as a team!

Christmas was excellent in our school this year. From Christmas pantomime in Glasgow, Christmas Lunches, Christmas concerts, Scottish dancing, Christmas parties and of course Secret Santa! What fun we had!

We even went down and sang for St Bartholomew’s parish!

Last but not least! We had big bingo!

What a great experience! Lots of parents and guardians came in to play bingo with us. Money raised was passed on to Missio.
