What a fabulous start to our new year! We have really enjoyed getting to know each other in our new class.

In literacy we have been working on a class novel “Ratburger” by David Walliams. This novel has been hilarious and we have enjoyed working together on it to explore the comprehension strategies. MrsMacFarlane  finished reading it aloud on Friday and we all started clapping once it was finished. What a great read!

We will now work on our on our group novels and use the comprehension strategies independently.

In maths primary seven have been looking at various forms of multiplication. Rounding and adjusting, the grid method and long and short written methods. Next week we will be tackling multiplying by two digits. Like 237×58???????

Primary six have been looking at equivalent fractions and we have become really skilled at simplifying fractions. Our next step is finding fractions of numbers. We can’t wait!

We have been exploring paper art. This was inspired from making rosettes through our Scottish Parliament topic. Watch this space for when we share our finished items.
